Nancy’s approach to Successful Self-Care benefits from an ongoing commitment to learning. She has received specialized training in several different areas of skilled therapeutic approaches for individuals, couples, and families. Through her involvement in the 12-step recovery process, she has developed and follows the principles of Successful Self-Care in her own life. Her passion and commitment has been to share these principles with others, who have found them to be highly effective in their lives.
Nancy provides a specialized therapeutic treatment plan uniquely designed for each individual, couple, and family with whom she works. In her 30 years of experience, not only has Nancy been trained and certified in EMDR therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy and Sex Addiction therapy, but she also served as a therapist, trainer, consultant, and executive director. In addition to her therapeutic services, she has the know-how to offer assessments, provision of treatment resources, and information on support organizations.

How long does the Successful Self-Care process take?
The duration of therapy is determined by many factors (the nature of the problem and the length of time it has existed). For both individuals and couples, the process usually involves 3-6 sessions to explore and discover the roots of the presenting problem. To reverse and resolve the issues takes longer. Many individuals, couples, and families need time and support to fully heal and discover a new, more rewarding quality of life.
How often are sessions scheduled?
Sessions are usually scheduled on a weekly basis for 50-90 minutes.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?
If you need to cancel, please call the office 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Cancellations made within less than 24 hours will be charged at the full session fee.
How much are session fees and when is payment expected?
Payment is expected at the time of each session and may be made by cash, check or credit card. Please call the Evanston office for information about current fees.
Are Successful Self-Care services covered by insurance?
Successful Self-Care, Ltd. is an out-of-network provider for most insurance plans. Check with your insurance provider to determine the current benefits of your plan.
